We pull our babies at three weeks after allowing the parents to feed them for the most critical time in their development. After pulling, we syringe feed our baby birds Kaytee Exact Handfeeding Formula. We add to their formula Micracine Nurture, a probiotic from China Prairies. This formula helps give us beautifully healthy babies. These babies are raised in a home environment and hand fed by four different members of our family. This helps them to become used to being handled by more than one person. Babies old enough to be out of the brooder are given a play time where, for a period of time daily, they are out on a blanket with toys and food items to play with. Members of our family (whoever is available at the time) lie around the blanket doing homework or other things, and give loves to the little ones that waddle close. |
